About the Owner, Michelle Shaeffer--I was born and raised in rural Alaska where my father managed a telephone/cellular/internet company. Computers were always a part of our household, and a focus in our school district, so I've been comfortable with computers from Kindergarten. When the internet hit our town I began learning to design websites, and started with a website for our Church. I took a few high school computers and publishing classes, worked on the newspaper, and our school website. A few years later, I started designing websites for friends and family. Eventually my knowledge base increased and I pursued my own business (Dove's Design). With thirteen years of design experience, I've continued to seek out new technology and continue learning daily.

Over the past year, the business has grown and I've refocused and expanded my services under the name Elemental Muse, and look forward to continuing to provide reliable, affordable services to other small and home-based businesses.

After four years in business I can still say that this is truly something I enjoy. I'm blessed to be able to work from home with my children nearby, and to do something I love.

The inspiration behind our name, Elemental Muse: The Muses are the Greek goddesses who preside over the arts and sciences and inspire those who excel at these pursuits. Website design & hosting require a balance of inspiration in the arts and knowledge of the sciences.
